Vegans can’t live without their yogurt! And these days we don’t have to. There are so many options out there, but Amande is really unique. First of all, they’re the first brand of almond milk yogurt, and that’s got to count for something. Secondly, all of their yogurts are sweetened naturally with fruit juice, not sugar. And to top it all off (literally?), Amande’s probiotics are grown in a non-dairy medium. I won’t get all yogurty on you, but some of the non-dairy yogurts start their cultures off in dairy. How awesome is it to know that dairy isn’t necessary at all, even in yogurt?

Let’s get down to the most important part, the taste! Amande comes in 6 different flavors, and as I’ve tried them all I can tell you that the coconut is the best (cherry and strawberry are tied for second). You can also get plain and vanilla in a 24 ounce tub, which is awesome to bake with. Unless you’ve been living under a vegan rock, you probably know that you can replace the eggs in most recipe with yogurt: 1/4 cup yogurt = one egg. Easy peasy!

They all have a custardy consistency, and seem more like a dessert than a breakfast item. I’ve even used it in place of ice cream, eaten with pie (Ginger Peach Pandowdy from Vegan Pie in the Sky):

As a bonus, did you know that the cultures in yogurt are good for your skin? Yogurt is a much easier and tastier way to help keep the pimples at bay than creams full of nasty chemicals.

Tonight we’re giving away 2 free product coupons and 4 discount coupons to 5 (count ‘em FIVE) lucky winners! To enter the contest, just visit the Amande site, pick a flavor and tell us your favorite way to eat it. Is it with granola? In a smoothie? Straight out of the carton? Winners will be chosen Monday afternoon! US only please, and don’t forget to enter a valid email address so that we can contact you. Good luck!

  3. I just discovered Amande yogurt last month. In fact, it’s the yogurt I used in my Iron Chef Challenge recipe! My absolute fave to eat by itself is cherry. It is better than ANY yogurt I’ve ever had. Coconut is my favorite in a smoothie and with granola. And I bake with plain. The Hubster likes the raspberry best. Can you tell we love this stuff??? 🙂

  4. my co-worker had just recently told me about amande. i am so excited to try this soy-free vegan yogurt. I am a sucker for classic blueberry yogurt! I would eat it straight out of the carton. the plain and vanilla flavors i would add to smoothies or use to make raita.

  5. Oooooo it may seem boring but I am a super sucker for plain yogurt. It leaves so many options open to make it even more exciting and tasty. My favorite use of plain yogurt is using a dollop on top of any of my spicy indian dishes to add a cooling contrast. yuuuummmmmm, oh the possibilities.

  6. This giveaway is making me hungry! I’d have to go with the peach yogurt straight out the container. I’m a yogurt purist. 🙂

  7. I’ve tried their raspberry and I’d like to try peach. My fave way to eat is with more fruit or raw granola. Yum

  8. This looks great! I’ve never heard of almond yogurt, but I’ll be looking for it near me. I’d love to try the peach flavor. I haven’t had much yogurt since going vegan, and I’ve been missing it a lot lately.

  9. Oh man, I just tried this for the first time yesterday, and I LOVE it. The peach flavor is pretty much perfect, but I’m interested in trying blueberry next.

  10. Plain with all the fruit in my fridge, cereal, applesauce, and of course a spoon to eat it with (any time of the day)!
As for flavored, coconut sounds delish. But I can’t so no to blueberry, peach or strawberry.

  11. Every time I see this yogurt, I think it says Amanda. He he he! I like to eat it out of the container with any berries that we have around. All of the flavors sound awesome, but I would love to try the coconut!

  12. I haven’t tried this yet, but I would LOVE to. I would love to try the peach with some homemade huckleberry and almond granola… Mmmmmmmmmm

  13. I love the plain, mixed with oats and berries left overnight to create a wonderful breakfast treat. Sweetened with a little juice perhaps or agave, but usually the berries do the trick.

  14. Before I went vegan, my favorite thing to do with yogurt was to make yogurt sandwiches. I haven’t had one of those in almost five years now, so if I get a big tub of plain yogurt (my favorite type, I don’t like yogurts that are already flavored) I’m gonna make my first vegan yogurt sandwich! YUM! And then I’ll blend some with frozen berries to make frogurt. Then put that in a sandwich, ha! 😀

  15. i tried the blueberry and liked it straight out of the carton, but ruined a cherry one by trying it after I froze it and ate it a bit thawed. it was a weird consistency. I would like to try the other flavors!

  16. I LOVE AMANDE SO MUCH!!! Cherry is most certainly my favorite flavor because it goes so well with almond! I just eat it straight because it is TOO DELICIOUS.

  17. Awesome giveaway! I would choose the vanilla for smoothies. Oh how I miss it in smoothies! Also right out of the container with fresh berries is A-MAZ-ING!

  18. Give me the coconut flavored Amande, anytime. It’s good right out of the carton, or as a topping to cobblers, pies, cakes…whatever I’m munching the moment.

  19. I’m definitely a smoothie girl, these yogurts would be perfect for me! I’d use any flavor really, but coconut always beats anything else! It’s just a fact.

  20. Because almonds are naturally very nutritious, almond milk doesn’t need to be fortified. You can make almond milk yourself at home, and it will have the same nutritional value as the almond milk available commercially.
