THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED

Today starts the second week of Vegan MoFo! And that means our second week of giveaways starts with a great offer from Field Roast!

Burger PictureIf you were watching twitter a few months ago you probably saw a lot of vegan action happening at Expo West. And if you saw vegans tweeting about Expo West, you saw that Field Roast was sampling two new products: their Apple Maple Breakfast Sausages and the Hand Formed Burgers. And attendees were going crazy for these products!

The hand formed burgers have been making a splash here on the west coast. They’ve started popping up in grocery stores but are also available at a number of sports stadiums, along with the Field Roast franks. These sturdy burgers, built from barley, fresh carrots and celery, are perfect for the grill. They have a great meaty texture and hold up well while cooking. Take them to your fall work barbeque and finally enjoy a juicy burger with your co-workers.

We are happy to be giving away a gift pack that includes a free coupon for a pack of burgers and a Field Roast t-shirt to 5 different winners! To enter, you just need to leave a comment below about your favorite burger toppings for a Field Roast burger. We’ll select a five winners at 8 am PDT on September 9. This giveaway is open to US residents only. You’ve got 24 hours to enter! One entry per person please.

  1. I’ve never tried these ‘burgers’ before. I think they first time I heard about them I just assumed they were real burgers. One of these days I hope to try them to see what they are all about tho! Always like hearing about the vegan options and alternatives out there! My favorite toppings…well, Mustard and Ketchup. Lately relishes, too! I’m a big fan of tomatoes on just about everything and I really like sprouts whenever possible.

  2. My favorite burger toppings are caramelized onions, greens, and a sauce made with vegan mayo and vegan Worcestershire sauce. I would love to try these burgers.

  3. Haven’t tried these burgers yet but I’d really love to! I always go for guacamole on my veggie burgers, and some kind of nice tangy slaw.

  4. OMG! HOW DID I MISS THESE?!? My son has a soy allergy and so Field Roast products have been an absolute godsend! We eat Hilary’s Eat Well burgers which are so delicious, but not meaty at all. I cannot wait to try these! My favorite way to top a burger is with teriyaki sauce, a pineapple ring and some fresh crisp lettuce. Yum!

  5. I like mine with seitan bacon, cheese, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, pickles with “special sauce” (ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, Sriracha, mayo) and kale. I may even throw in a couple of French fries in there.

  6. I like them two ways either with a mountain of sauteed mushroom and onion with mushroom gravy or with ketchup, mustard, onion, lettuce and tomato YUM!

  7. I NEED pickles on my “burgers”. And maybe ketchup AND mustard, as well as tomato. Ok, maybe some leafy greens, but not iceburg please.

  8. Recently I tried a “Hawaiian burger”. YUMMA. the burger was sauteed in pineapple juice. After it was covered in teriyaki sauce. Pineapple rings were sauteed in the teriyaki sauce too. then the burger bun was piled high with another layer of sauce, the pineapple ring (coated again with sauce) a red onion loop and lettuce. I added veganaise to the bun top too.

    delish!

  9. Oooh, I have yet to try Field Roast’s burgers. I love their sausages though!

Favorite burger toppings? Mustard and Nayonaise, red onions, pickles, and fried mushrooms.

  10. Never tried their burger, but their sausages are delish! The usual suspects for my burger toppings would be lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, avocados, and onions! And lots of ketchup and/or vegan mayo!

  11. I’ve liked the same burger toppings since I was a kid: ketchup and pickles. I eventually added mustard to that, but still, I long for burger goodness that makes that little kid in me do a Muppet dance with ketchup on her face.

  12. Dreaming now of avocado, tomato and grilled jalapeño, but as the weather cools I think I’ll be moving toward a sautéed mushroom and Henderson’s relish combo.

  13. I haven’t had these yet! I would probably rock some kind of patty melt thing…Swiss cheese (is there Daiya Swiss?), caramelized onions, grilled bread….

  14. I would love to try Field Roast’s burgers as I love to put the breaded Field Roast patty in my sandwiches. My favorite burger combo would be a classic with Vegenaise, mustard, ketchup, and pickles or a more spicy style with the patty soaked in a miso-hoisin sauce and topped with Vegenaise and homemade kimchi and cilantro!

  15. I’ve tried the hand formed burgers and they’re pretty good! I’d have to say that my favorite burgers toppings are sauteed mushrooms and alfalfa sprouts 🙂

  16. I haven’t been able to try these yet, but they sound amazing! I generally stick with pickles, mustard, sriracha, and onions on my burgers…if I can get my hands on a good one, though, I also love avocado. Yum!

  17. Carmelized onion and homemade barbecue sauce really hits the spot! Or avacado with loads of fresh veggies! 🙂

  18. Oh I’m a guacamole girl for sure. Burger’s gotta have guac. I also require mustard, although have been known in recent years to dollop chipotle vegenaise on any sandwich-like concoction that follows me out of the kitchen. TPLO (tomato, pickles, lettuce & onion) standards are a given, right?

  19. My dad makes these awesome pickled peppers that are spicy and sweet. LOVE them on vegan burgers (and sandwiches, and scrambles, and toast…). Those and avocado are the best burger-toppers, IMO.

  20. I’ve never tried the Field Roast burgers before, but their Apple-Sage Sausages are AMAZING! For my burger, I definitely think I’d go all-American with it. Mustard, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomatoes. Yum!

  21. If I’m going traditional with the toppings, I have to say grilled red onions, fresh tomato, lettuce, and mustard (yellow, spicy, or dijon). But a good guacamole burger is essential now and then. These burgers sound great, I’d love to try them!
