Food for Lovers Queso and Chips Giveaway!

The queso goes to adriennefriend who said:

I would definitely use this queso to smother some kind of casserole – instead of making my own cheeze, which is usually what happens! 🙂

The first time I bought Food For Lovers queso, I deeply regretted only buying two jars. This originally started as an amazing recipe on the internet, and Chris and Crystal eventually started selling to restaurants in Austin, then to Austin Whole Foods. Now you can mail-order jars, and I’ve even purchased their queso from my local health food store in Maryland.

This dip is everything queso should be. It’s spicy, creamy, and full of chunks of tomatoes and peppers. It’s great straight out of the jar, or poured over nachos, tacos, pasta, tofu scramble, and anything else you can think of.

One lucky winner will get four jars of queso and chips. Just leave a comment telling us how you’d like to use the queso. Don’t forget to include your email!

A winner will be chosen at random around 10pm EST. This is open to U.S. residents only.

We’re planning other giveaways that will include our international readers, so stay tuned! The giveaway crew has worked really hard to make this month amazing!

  1. a refried bean, queso, potato burrito- a la taco bell!
    tacos, nachos, mexican pizzas
    in soups or chilis
    on veggies/dip for veggies
    cheese toast!
ooooh, add some crumbled vegan sausage for an even better dip!
    maybe a mexican-style fondue?
who knows, the possibilities are endless 😀

  2. My favorite way to use queso is on nacho chips and tacos. I would also like to try it on a veggie burger and maybe on some vegetables. 🙂

  3. I can’t wait to try this!!! I will plan an entire party around this queso with lots of Mexican inspired treats. 🙂

  4. I would probably keep 1 jar (or 3) to myself.. And then use what’s left to make all my omnivorous doubter friends question their life choices.

  5. In my mouth! But what strikes me is that it would be good for a spicy quinoa scramble, with lots of other veggies (think asparagus, onions, bell peppers), with the queso to hold it all together!

  6. I’m in vet school and spend an awful lot of time studying. Looks like a perfect chip & dip study snack to me!

  7. I would be happy munching on queso-dipped chips and veggies…but I’d love to make vegan chili queso fries or cheesy roasted potatoes. Ooh queso and pretzels, perhaps?

  8. I could just suck this queso up with my smoothie straw…but to be be civilized, I’d use it on some homemade vegan enchiladas! It’s delicious!

  9. On seitan tacos w/ roasted peppers and onions; on black bean nachos; and over pinto beans, roasted kale, and rice. On pretty much everything!!

  10. I’d love to use this on nachos, in a baked potato, over brown rice and veggies, and in a mac & nocheese recipe (only using the queso and some daiya instead of dairy) — now I’m hungry! 🙂

  11. First, I would bathe in it and lick it off of myself like a cat. Then, after awakening from my vegan queso coma, I would drizzle it all over all my favorite steamed veggies, especially broccoli, and then with the last bit I would make myself a vegan 7-layer chip dip … 😮
(I am now dehydrated from salivating so damn much.)

  12. I’d love to tell you that I would have all sorts of creative ideas but I know I would just heat it up and dip chips in it, or pour it over them, nacho style. Maybe some seasoned black beans and a little guacamole or cashew crema to dress things up a bit. Oh and pickled red onions on top.

  13. I would make sure my weekly vegan potluck was structured around this queso, I’m sure it would be amazing on spinach enchiladas or loaded nachos!

  14. 1. vegan hash mash with mexican chipotle field grain sausage crumbles, wildwood tofu, jalapenos, black beans, pico de gallo and leftover tater tots.
    2. nachos.
    3. chili-cheese fries.
    4. and the fourth to send in a care package to chile.

  15. I’d use it as a dip for tortilla chips. But really, what WOULDN’T I use it on (almost!)…..nachos, tofu scramblers, macaroni and “cheese”, “meat” loaf, tacos, burritos, etc.

  16. I would use it on many things but potato dishes like fried potatoes and onions, which become “Smothered Potatoes” with salsa and queso are the first to come to mind. Also as part of a baked potato bar with other good things like broccoli, green onions, sauteed mushrooms etc.

  17. delicious, creamy mac and cheese! The good baked kind with bread crumbs on top, and broccoli! That nacho cheese stuff makes for incredibly awesome vegan mac and cheese. Although it does also make really good nachos…..I guess with four jars I could probably make both! =)

  18. I LOVE this stuff and love that I can get it almost anywhere here that I want! (gotta love how Austin loves to support local food!)
Though its amazing enough just as chips and dip, I think it’d be fantastic on top of Crystal’s vegan king ranch casserole

  19. Jonny O and I love this nectar of the gods! One of the Vegan Wagoneers gave us a jar and we devoured it with chips. We were excited to learn that our local Wegmans in PA carries it!

  20. I wouldn’t get to eat much of this if I won, my omni cheese-fiend boyfriend is in love with this queso. It would be gone before I got a second helping, he’ll be on his 6th!

  21. I have always wanted to try this stuff! I would use it over veggies, on nachos, on a spoon, on a fork, to brush my teeth…I love me some cheesy stuff!!

  22. Did anyone else just catch man vs food the other day? Big fancy gooey nachos-I know I’m pregnant so everything looks delicious but yumm! I’d make nachos with plops of guacamole, vegan hamburger crumbles, chopped onion and jalepanos-just like on the show. Huge and overdone 😀

  23. I got my first jar of queso at Vida Vegan Con, and was surprised by how delicious it was. I put it on chili — what am I saying — I put it on everything!

  24. Different ideas wouldbe to put on baked sweet or white potatoes, and think it would be great to spread on whole wheat tortilla, than add black bean/rice mixture and make a wrap.

  25. I would put it on chickpea crepes filled with adzuki bean and purple potatoes. After the vegan queso, I’d add a tomato chutney as well. Yum!

  26. I’d love to try this on black bean burritos, enchiladas, over tots sprinkled with chili powder, onion rings… so many possibilities! 🙂

  27. Way awesome, some legitimate details! I value you creating this short article offered, the remainder of the web site can be substantial top quality. Have a very enjoyable.
