GIVEAWAY – A one year subscription to Chickpea Magazine

This giveaway is now closed, thanks for playing
Have you had a chance to read Chickpea Magazine yet? It’s beautiful, filled with pictures and articles and very different from your typical ad filled magazine. The Kitchn reported:

Cara Livermore, founder of Hipsterfood and the editor-in-chief of Chickpea, says she launched the magazine in part to “celebrate and normalize veganism” as well as focus on “well-thought out stories and features, appealing to everyone, [and] made beautiful to attract vegans AND non-vegans.” Each issue features whole-food recipes, photography, articles and stories “from small-kitchen busy moms to professional chefs, and everyone in between.”

The printed version is a full 8.5″x11″ with no ads, and you can buy back issues here for $20. Or else just read the issues online! Look for the new Summer issue to hit the (virtual) stands later this week.”

Chickpea is giving away a ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION to ANYONE IN THE WORLD! All you have to do TO ENTER: Let me know your favorite post that you wrote during this year’s Veganmofo in the comments below with a link. If you didn’t write one please link to a favorite that you read. Please make sure to include and email that you regularly check so I can send it to Chickpea. Thanks and enjoy the last couple days!

  1. I did not write a post, but I am obsessed with almost every recipe that I have seen so far! My Pinterest board is overflowing with yummy recipes to try!!!

  2. i guess any of my posts trying to show people you can eat vegan meals & snacks from target! i like showing how easy vegan food can be made & found.

  3. I discovered your site today, so I didn’t write a post. I am new vegan and would find this subscription to be so useful! Thanks for the opportunity.

  4. As for my favorite food I’ve made this month, I really loved my Tomato Tuesday post; I had never made tomato soup before but was able to figure out how to make THE BEST TOMATO SOUP I’VE EVER EATEN with some help from a can of coconut milk: http://killmyblues.tumblr.com/post/60233034510/veganmofo-tomato-tuesday

The most fun to write, though, was probably the breakfast pizza (Uncut Rooftop Breakfast Pizza with Denny’s Hashbrowns, Skyler and Marie’s SHUT UP! Greens, and Birthday Bacon – on Jesse’s Chili Powder Biscuit Crust – served alongside Gale and Walt Jr.’s Black Coffee) that I made for Walter White Wednesday. I’m obsessed with Breaking Bad at the moment, like so many other people…: http://killmyblues.tumblr.com/post/62258505615/veganmofo-walter-white-wednesday

  5. I am not participating in VeganMoFo but I enjoy reading recipes from all over the world. I was especially happy to stumble across this Finnish blog post: http://mammituokkonen.blogspot.co.at/2013/09/aronia-and-rye-foam-aronia-ruisvaahto.html
It features a berry ‘foam’ that I happened to eat in a similar version while in Latvia this summer. I wasn’t told the name or recipe for the dish, only that it’s ‘naturally’ vegan, which made me quite curious. When I saw the post I was very happy that I could recreate the dessert at home now and revive the lovely memories from summer.

  6. My favorite part of VeganMoFo is the giveaways and being introduced to new cookbooks and products. This is my third year following the internet festivities, and while I have yet to win anything, I remain ever hopeful. I’m looking forward to the iron chef competition especially, and reading those blogs. I feel that I learn a lot about different foods because the ingredients are so limited. Thanks for a fun month!

  7. My favorite post was Called “Kaylen’s Bread” – http://www.whats4dinnermama.com/easy-sourdough-bread/ – which includes a recipe for super easy Sourdough Artisan Bread, but means so much more to me personally. Some time ago, my BFF Jenny asked me to give sourdough a go in the hopes that it would benefit her daughter, Kaylen, a beautiful young woman with serious digestive issues. Among other things, Gluten is not Kaylen’s friend. But she misses bread – real bread that does not “taste like sand” (Kaylen’s words) – a lot. Jenny had read that, because of the unique properties of slow-rising sourdough, Kaylen might be able to tolerate it better, so she wanted me to give it a try. I gave Kaylen her first loaf a couple of weeks ago, and after trying it for a week, she reported to me that she is ecstatic – my sourdough bread causes her none of the digestive issues she experiences with regular bread, and for the first time in years, she is eating toast for breakfast and loving it. I couldn’t be happier.

  8. The favorite post I’ve written so far is this one in which I tried to make a gluten free version of Sarah Kramer’s pierogis as a tribute for her. She’s fierce, and has been really public with her cancer battle. I’ve been thinking about her a lot, sending her healing energy. So, I wanted to send her a picture of really cool pierogis that day, using her recipe, with the healing energy, but OMG they were so bad with my changes no way I’d send the pic (note to self, leave the recipes alone!) It was fun to try anyway; I thought about Sarah even more that day, sending the love and light, but not the pierogi pictures. VeganMoFo has been a great experience for me, I love finding so many new blogs. http://happyvegans.blogspot.com/2013/09/veganmofo-day-25-love-light-and-really.html

  9. Oh wow this is tough; I’m starting to feel attached to everything I post. (Except today’s. Today’s was shite.) I think my favorite to write for other people to read was of course The Trifle http://www.laughfrodisiac.com/4/post/2013/09/veganmofo-veganizing-friends-rachels-english-trifle.html. But my favorite that I wrote for me was definitely my first post about Myanmar. http://www.laughfrodisiac.com/4/post/2013/09/veganmofo-veganizing-friends-rachels-english-trifle.html

  10. My favourite post has not actually been posted yet. It is my next post, with my grand fanale recipe, lets just say it involves, chocolate, icecream and then some more chocolate. I would love to win the subscriptions. Thanks

  11. This is easily my favorite blog post written during Vegan Mofo – it is actually my favorite post I have ever written. I am working on writing in more creative ways than just “here is the food, here is a recipe (or approximation)”. This post achieved that goal.

The best part is that not only did the dish just magically come together, but it sparked this writing.
