Hey Mofos!  Here is a giveaway to tempt your palate.  The kind folks over at Upton’s Naturals are handing out free seitan up in here!  Hells yeah!

The first time I ever tasted this delicious morsel of goodness was at Vida Vegan Con 2011.  The scene: late night Portland.  Random ice cream truck rolls up with vegan ice cream samples.  Two food-drunk women walk into a grocery store and order sammiches.  One woman dies of foodgasm.  That woman was me.  Rest in peace, homie.

Soon, we’re all going to die when this hickory smoked variety is released! Thanks for killing all of the vegans, Upton’s.

    than i will have some italian sausage, because YUM!
    and then i will have some chorizo. because YUM!
    lastly i’d have some ground beef, because YUM!

  3. I can’t wait to try the hickory flavor! I bet it would be awesome in a jambalaya! currently the chorizo is my favorite…thanks for the great products Upton’s

  4. Hickory sounds great! especially with my home made korean BBQ sauce!
    Also the traditional would be nice to use for a vegan beef stroganoff…

  5. The hickory sounds incredible! We are already hooked on the chorizo and the ground seitan is perfect for our veggie chili.

  6. I just learned of Uptons and have never had their seitan so I will have to say the one I would like to try – CHORIZO!!

  7. I would like to try the chorizo flavor. I used to get soyrizo at Trader Joe’s when I lived in CA, but I haven’t seen anything like it here in N. FL.

  8. Hickory, then Italian sausage. The former is good for everyday, but the latter would be used to try making sausage cheddar biscuits.

  9. I’d go traditional – that way I can pair it with a lot of choices! I am thinking there would be a seitan and cheeze sub in my future!

  10. They all sound fantastic! I’d go with some smoky hickory goodness first before making all kinds of deliciousness with the chorizo and sausage-style seitan.

  11. Love Uptons! Love the Chorizo-Style Seitan! Also, the pre-made wraps they have are bomb! almost forgot my favorite (and how I was introduced to the brand), tamales!!!

  12. I’d go for the Italian Sausage-Style Seitan because all Italian food taste great. And, I can only imagine how many more new yummy Italian inspired dishes I can make with this type of seitan.

  13. hickory! I feel like hickory smoked isn’t a frequent offering from the faux meat producers, so I would be stoked!
