Chicago Soydairy Giveaway

Chicago Soydairy Giveaway

Winners!  Since one mentioned marshmallows, and the other mentioned cheese, it was easy to decide who would get which prize.

Dandies, Scissors and Spice:  I am so, so happy to have Dandies in my life. We go on public hayrides at a nearby park that always include a bonfire and smores making. Thankfully, I can bring my children their own marshmallows so they are not left out of the fun! Dandies make parenting easier! 🙂

Teese, Celeste:  My favorite cheesy foods are pizza, baked ziti, and mac & cheeze!

Today’s giveaway is brought to you by Chicago Soydairy, the makers of Teese Vegan Cheese and Dandies Vegan Marshmallows.

Remember those dark days, when vegan cheese was something that made you sigh deeply because what little that was available wasn’t very good?  It tasted funny, it didn’t really melt, gooey pizza was but a dream.  These days we have more vegan cheese options than we can shake a bag of nooch at, but Teese was the first to make people excited about vegan cheese. In addition to basic mozzarella and cheddar flavors, they also make cheddar and nacho flavored sauces.

I also remember those dark days when there was one vegan marshmallow…and then we found out it wasn’t really vegan!  Now we have two kinds of marshmallows, made by dedicated vegan companies.

First of all, CSD loves VeganMoFoers so much, they are doing their own contest, where the winner will receive a years supply of Dandies!  All you have to do is to make something with Dandies, blog about it, and send them the link.

Today’s giveaway will have two winners:  one person will get two bags of Dandies, the other person will get one of each flavors of Teese (four total).  To enter, just comment here and tell us what your favorite cheesy or marshmallow-y food is (or both!).  US residents only!  The winners will be chosen randomly tonight at 10 pm CST.  Don’t forget to leave your email address so we can contact you!

  1. My favourite marshmallow-y thing is rocky road bars. Now if you’ll excuse me, this sick girl is sitting on the couch with a bag of dandies in her lap that are calling her name.

  2. For marshmallows, nothing beats building smores by the fire. Before going camping this year, I special ordered a bag of Dandies, because it just wouldn’t be a bonfire without them.

  3. I’m a mongo rocky road ice cream fan, so I’d definitely use some dandies to make a batch! And I’ve never been able to try dandies since we can’t get them here in Roanoke, so winning them would be all the sweeter!

  4. I really miss eating mac n’ cheese from that blue box… but I never really missed marshmallows. I haven’t tried Teese or Dandies, but I surely would love to try the Teese. 🙂

  5. Hmmmmm! Some nice vegan Mac N Teese would be wonderful tonight!!! Oooooooo! And as a side dish some mashed sweet potatoes with Dandies on top!!!! Sounds like Thanksgiving could be really good this year if I WIN!!!!!!

  6. My favourite cheesy dishes are those involving macaroni or steamed broccoli. Or both.
Marshmallow s’mores pie was probably the best thing I stuffed in my face recently.

  7. Pizza for both: regular pizza with red sauce, cheese, and mushrooms; or dessert pizza with chocolate, crushed peanuts, and toasted marshmallows.

  8. I am so, so happy to have Dandies in my life. We go on public hayrides at a nearby park that always include a bonfire and smores making. Thankfully, I can bring my children their own marshmallows so they are not left out of the fun! Dandies make parenting easier! 🙂

  9. My favorite cheesy food would be vegan macaroni and cheese, fried cheese sticks or enchiladas! I really like anything cheesy and I definitely put nutritional yeast on everything!

As for marshmallows- I love s’more cupcakes, s’mores or baked sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. I haven’t had marshmallows in years!

  10. My favourite cheezy food is a very simple vegan cheeze toast. With Sriracha hot sauce.
The only time I had a bag of Dandies, I wanted to make rocky roads, but somehow I just ate the whole bag of marshmallows as they were. 😉

  11. When a friend of mine in high school let me try her “Fluffer Nutter” sandwich, I was hooked! the combo of peanut butter and marshmallow in a sandwich…well, it’s Elvis food alright, but Lord help me, I loved it, lol.

few things can top grandma’s mac & cheese of course, but I do love me some fondue…drool. dipping veggies or toasted gluten-free things into some melty, seasoned cheese…what could be better?!

Thank you so much for all that you do in making this blog so special. It really makes my day over and over again.

  12. A sub with “chicken”/tofu, teese mozzarella and marinara! And for dessert – cupcakes with marshmallows baked right in the batter! Yum!!

  13. I like big bowls of marshmallows, chocolate chips, pretzels, and peanuts. If I call it a “Marshmallow Salad,” it makes it healthy… right? 😀

  14. My absolute favorite thing is a super gooey, vegan mac and cheese – it was the ONLY thing I ate until I was about 10 and I still can’t get enough of it! As far as marshmallows go, the peanut butter-banana-marshmallow panini combo wins every time.

  15. This giveaway is killing me a little because I’ve never even SEEN teese before, let alone tried it! We also can’t get Dandies in my area, but I’ve hunted them down elsewhere. I have to say that my favorite way to eat a marshmallow is good ole classic roasting over a fire! I just happen to be going camping in a few weeks….

  16. My favorite marshmallow topped food has to be candied yams! Perfect for this time of year and surprisingly healthy. So glad for dandies because I had been craving this food for years since I became vegan.

As for cheesy foods where do I begin? I absolutely love vegan lasagna. Topped with Teese, I can make the most fabulous ooey gooey vegan lasagna ever! In fact, I made it for Christmas and didn’t tell anyone it was vegan, and it was a total success! Thank you Chicago Soy Dairy <3!!

P.S. I would use my winnings to make fabulous vegan fare to share at my holiday celebrations and try to convert some oF my family 😀

  17. I adore nachos with teese on them. so delicious and gooey and yum.
Usually my dandies don’t make it into anything but my mouth…I do love hot chocolate with dandies, though, so tasty.

  18. Marshmallows: I just like them straight up, lit on fire for a moment then blown out and eaten. Mmmm. I could basically eat Dandies in that form every hour of every day.

Also, there’s something to be said for a nice slice of cheezy toast.

  19. Recently I made coconut milk-based rocky road ice cream that was SOOO good. I used Dandies in the mixture!

As for cheese, I’m a big mac ‘n cheese girl, but I also love to sprinkle some cheddar on my otherwise mozzarella-covered pizzas to give it a little more sharpness and flavor. Yum!

  20. oh man. cheese enchiladas. i could eat them everyday!

also, cocoa just doesn’t seem complete without marshmellows.

  21. I’d love to try Teese! I’ve never had it before and have heard great things. With it I’d made mac and cheese, quesadillas, grilled cheese and use it to top veggies like broccoli and potatoes. With the dandies I’d like to try my hand at a baked yam dish topped with marshmallows like all our mamas usually make at Thanksgiving.

  22. Oh, man. If I had to go my entire life knowing I would never ever ever have a peanut butter, banana and marshmallow sandwich I would be sad. Really sad. Thank you Dandies!!!

  23. I love vegan marshmellows melted over yams with vegan butter and cinnamon! Wow, I just got hungry 🙂

  24. The cheesy thing I miss most is mozzarella sticks. I have yet to find something that compares. As for those Dandies, they are mighty fine for s’mores!

  25. My favorite cheesy food is Mac & Cheese, any vegan recipe will work! As for marshmellows, I love making homemade smores and cocoa! This giveaway rocks! 🙂

  26. My favorite cheesy foods are nachos and/or cheese fries!!! YUM!
And my favorite marshmallow-y food is rice crispie treats!
    Wow, junk food cravings abound!

  27. so hard to decide these things!
i think i might have to go with quesadilla. (but i go with nachos more often) and you can never go wrong with a nice grilled cheese and soup. noms.

  28. Sweet potato casserole is the perfect dish for vegan marshmallows… I love it.

Teese is my preferred cheese for pizza. Can’t get it in North Carolina though, so I have to stock up whenever I’m in Chicago.

  29. Favourite cheesy food: Macaroni and Cheese definately, in fact, when I used to eat non-vegan macaroni and cheese my mom/sister/whoever-was-making-it always added extra cheese to it…
Favourite marshmallow food: Someone has probably already said this but hot chocolate with marshmallows in it.

  30. We use Dandies in my summer camp programs – (Camp Exploration – http://www.CampExploration.org or http://www.VeganCamp.org – totally vegan camps for kids for the last 18 years) – for roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, etc. – they work great – at Thanksgiving, I love to use dandies in the “traditional” marshmallow sweet potato dish 🙂

As to cheese, we love Teese for nachos, but have not really yet experimented with all the flavors. A big favorite cheesy dish is lasagna – definitely want to try Teese for that – currently, we take tofu and mash it up and olive oil, nutritional yeast, and just the right blend of herbs to make a tofu ricotta and just skip the mozzarella layers – will have to try with Teese – oh, and must say that the fried mozzarella sticks we are now seeing in some restaurants are amazing – will those be available for us to purchase soon?

Keep up the great work, Chicago Soy Dairy!

  31. Hey there! I’m actually a ‘new’ vegan, and i still haven’t found a satisfying cheese substitution..! I miss it in toast and with nachos..
Oh, and thumbs-up for vegan marshmallows! I’d have mine roasted on a stick over fire and sandwiched between some bisquits!:)

  32. i still haven’t tried dandies! [bows head in shame] since i love me some s’mores, they would definitely fill the void.
as for teese, i would make teesey cornbread biscuits to woo all my omni family during the holidays.

  33. Cheesy is definitely pizza! And mac and cheese. And grilled cheese. Ohh cheesy gooey (animal-free) goodness!

And marshmallows would be rice krispy treats! I miss them a lot!

  34. First of all I can’t pick just one favorite marshmallow recipe. The fact that I am able to have a simple roasted marshmallow makes me smile. Of course there is also rice krispies and fudge! And there’s nothing more comforting than creamy macaroni and cheese with peas.

  35. I would love to try these products. Sorry to say, I’ve never tried them before.
My fav cheesy food is pizza 🙂
Fav marshmallowy food is…don’t have one, but I would love to experiment with these 🙂

  36. I used to weigh over 300 pounds. I used to eat a small variety of things. The big one was macaroni and cheese. THE SUPER COLOSSAL MEGA BLOW YOUR MIND THIS WAS AT LEAST 100 LBS OF THE WEIGHT I HAVE LOST was good old Brooklyn Pizza.

Mmmm… Every day. It was a snack before dinner. And I hoped dinner would also be pizza, or at least macaroni and cheese.

Well, lost the weight, *then* went vegetarian… THEN went vegan. I still want a pizza, though I now want mine with non-dairy cheese please! (Still in large quantities, good thing I don’t have a vegan pizzeria near by…)

    🙂 B’klyn<3 <3'sB'klynPizza

  37. Homemade vegan “queso loco”! My own queso recipe topped with soy chorizo, chopped avocado, tomato and green onion served up with a bucket load of tortilla chips.

Marshmallow topped brownies and fudge ( heck, how about just straight from the bag?)!!!

  38. Um, if I buy a bag of Dandies, I’m really lucky if they make it all the way to a recipe before ending up in my tummy.

Teese makes for the best cheese fries, though!

  39. Favorite “cheesy” foods are pizza and mac n’ cheese (also mac n’ cheese pizza!). And I’d love Dandies for my hot cocoa this winter!

  40. Crispy rice treats hands down! They’re good with peanut butter, but a million times better with marshmallows. Now I’ve got a craving…

  41. SO far we’ve been a Daiya family, because we haven’t been able to find Teese anywhere. I’d love to try it in a macaroni and cheese bake though.

We’ve also never had Dandies and our 17-month-old vegan daughter has never had a vegan marshmallow period, so it’d be wonderful to share those with her 🙂

  42. I LOVE cheesy pizza, nachos, and macaroni and cheese — I would LOVE to win – also, I am from/live in WI and have to deal with all of the flack I get for NOT eating meat and dairy in the dairy state that is heavily a meat and potatoes kind of state. I would love for vegan items to become more mainstream and as delicious as Chicago Soydairy products are – then EVERYONE would be vegan 🙂

  43. Cheesy food: gooey grilled cheese or nachos
Marshmallows: Melted in a sandwich with peanut butter! Chocolate chips optional!

  44. Nobody in my household ever liked marshmallows until we had Dandies. True story. (And my 3yo won’t touch nonvegan marshmallows .. or the other vegan brand for that matter. Also true.) Favorite marshmallowy food would have to be the little houses the abovementioned 3yo builds with Dandies and colored toothpicks. Treat for him, entertainment for me. Really though who needs recipes, we just eat ’em out of the bag. Though they do make a damn fine s’more. 🙂

  45. Macaroni and cheese is still my all time favorite cheese meal. Also, S’mores is still my favorite marshmallow recipe. Hot chocolate w/ marshmellows coming in second. Yum!

  46. I couldn’t see if this is only open for US peoples?
I love mac and cheese, cheesy pizza and grilled cheese.
As for marshmallows, rice cripsy treats and rocky road!

  47. Mac & Cheese all the way, yum. I’d love to try Teese as I have enjoyed Daiya in the past but since I moved, good vegan cheese — unless I do mail order — is a thing of the past unless I want to drive over 2 hours to get some (nutritional yeast works for me in the meantime).

  48. oh em gee. this giveaway is incredible! i will eat cheese in any form, vegan cheese that is! mac ‘n cheese, pizza, chili, wraps, baked potato… options are endless!!!

  49. After being deprived of marshmallows for 5 years before I could order in dandies, I have to say my favourites are the simple things; on top of hot chocolates, by the handful… but the best is stuffed into brown rice mochi with peanut butter and homemade vegan nuttella so everything melts and you have a big, sticky, puff of awesomeness.
As for cheese, I can’t get vegan cheese where I live, so I’m excited to try it on and in everything. Any flavour. On Any Food. *drools*

  50. I was going to try to think of something to make with Teese and marshmallows, but couldn’t think of anything good. I’d say a baked ziti with the Teese and if I could keep the marshmallows from the kids I would make rice krispy treats.

  51. Seitan Cheesesteak=favorite cheesy food.
Simple S’Mores=favorite marshmallow food. But honestly, when I get my hands on a bag of Dandies, most of them just end up in my mouth.

  52. Favorite cheesy food is a cream cheese-like spread or cheezeball spread on really good crackers. Favorite marshmalow-y food is of course S’mores!

  53. Since I make the most deformed vegan mallows ever, I use Dandies to cheer myself up. I push one perfect little mallow into the center of a vegan vanilla caramel, put a stick through the middle, then dip the whole thing in bittersweet chocolate. That way I get to eat something amazing while I work on raising my own mallow game.

  54. Cheese: Rigatoni with field roast italian sausage and veggies baked with vegan cheese on top!

Marshmallows: Straight off the stick in front of a fire.

  55. What an awesome giveaway! I’ve never had Tease since they don’t have them in stores near me. I have had Dandies and I LOVE them. My favorite two are GF vegan mac and cheese- baked with GF breadcrumbs on top and lots of vegan cheese. The other is rice crispy treats with GF rice crispies. This is making me hungry!
